Our story
We started as Samudra Footwear, a family footwear shop on Budhwar Peth Road that’s served Pune for many years. Day after day, customers came in with the same quiet complaints — aching arches after a long day, heel pain on the first steps each morning, shoes that never quite felt right. Off-the-shelf footwear could only do so much.
So we went deeper. We learnt the biomechanics of how feet load the ground, invested in proper assessment and insole-making, and grew from a footwear shop into custom-insole specialists. Today the same shop also trades as Comfort for Feet and Medilife — same family, same counter in Budhwar Peth, with a far sharper focus on making your feet comfortable.
Our biomechanics-first approach
Feet aren’t just a size — they’re a system of arches, alignment and movement. Before we recommend anything, we look at how you actually move: your gait, your arch type, where your heel sits, and which parts of your feet take too much load. That’s what tells us what your feet need.
This is the step most footwear shopping skips entirely. It’s also why two people with the same shoe size can need completely different support. We fit the foot in front of us, not an average.

How long have you been in Pune?
Our family shop has been part of Budhwar Peth, Pune for many years, first as Samudra Footwear and now also trading as Comfort for Feet and Medilife. Over time we grew from selling footwear into specialising in custom orthopaedic insoles and a biomechanics-first approach to comfort.
Do you really make insoles on-site?
Yes. After your assessment and a foam impression or scan, your custom insoles are crafted to your own prescription — your arch, heel alignment and gait — rather than pulled off a shelf. We then fit them in-shop in Pune or courier them anywhere in India.
