Diabetic feet deserve footwear built around protection, not just style. We fit shoes and custom insoles that spread pressure evenly, cushion every step and keep sensitive, neuropathic feet safe and comfortable — day in, day out.
Why diabetic feet need special footwear
Over time, diabetes can affect the nerves and circulation in the feet. With nerve changes (neuropathy), sensation is often reduced — so a tight seam, a hard ridge or a small pressure point that another person would feel and adjust can go unnoticed. Combined with skin that heals more slowly, those quiet pressure spots are exactly where rubbing, calluses and pressure problems tend to begin.
Good footwear quietly removes those triggers. The aim is simple: spread load evenly, soften every contact point, and give the toes room — so the foot is protected before anything starts. This is about sensible day-to-day protection, not cause for alarm.
Features that matter
When we fit diabetic & orthopaedic footwear, these are the details we look for:
- Seamless interiors — no hard inner seams or stitching to rub against numb skin.
- Soft MCR/MCP microcellular soles — cushioned, shock-absorbing materials that spread pressure instead of concentrating it.
- Wide, deep toe box — room for the toes to sit naturally, with space for swelling and for protective insoles.
- Pressure offloading — soles and insoles shaped to lift load away from high-pressure spots under the ball of the foot and heel.
- No hard seams or pressure ridges — smooth linings and padded collars so nothing digs in.
- Adjustable fit — straps that adapt as feet swell through the day.
Custom insoles for diabetic feet
Footwear protects from the outside; custom insoles protect from within. Where a foot has uneven pressure, deformity or a history of problem areas, off-the-shelf padding isn’t precise enough. We build insoles shaped to your foot that redistribute pressure away from vulnerable spots and onto areas that can carry it safely — the single most effective way to protect a sensitive sole.
MCR vs MCP — a quick explainer
MCR (Micro Cellular Rubber) and MCP (Micro Cellular Polymer) are the two soft sole materials you’ll hear about most. Both are lightweight, cushioning and gentle under neuropathic feet. MCR is rubber-based and a little firmer underfoot; MCP is polymer-based and tends to be lighter. Neither is automatically “better” — the right choice depends on your weight, how active you are and what feels best. We’ll guide you through it at the fitting so it’s an easy decision.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between MCR and MCP footwear?
MCR (Micro Cellular Rubber) and MCP (Micro Cellular Polymer) are both soft, cushioning sole materials that spread pressure and reduce shock under sensitive feet. MCR is a rubber-based microcellular material, while MCP is a lighter polymer-based version. Both are gentle on neuropathic feet — we’ll help you choose the one that suits your weight, activity and comfort needs at the fitting.
Can diabetics wear normal shoes?
Many people with well-controlled diabetes and no foot complications wear ordinary shoes that fit well. But if you have reduced sensation, pressure marks, calluses or a history of foot problems, purpose-made diabetic footwear with seamless interiors and soft soles offers much better protection. When in doubt, ask your doctor and let us fit you properly.
Do I need custom insoles for diabetic feet?
Not always — but they help a great deal when your feet have high-pressure spots, deformity or a history of ulcers. Custom insoles redistribute pressure away from vulnerable areas, which off-the-shelf insoles can’t do as precisely. After your assessment we’ll tell you honestly whether you need them or whether good footwear alone is enough.
I have wide or swollen feet — can you fit me?
Yes. Diabetic and orthopaedic footwear is made with wide and deep toe boxes, and many styles use adjustable straps to accommodate swelling through the day. We measure both feet and fit you to the larger one, so nothing pinches or rubs.
Can you deliver diabetic footwear across India?
Yes. Visit our Budhwar Peth shop in Pune for a free fitting, or book an online fitting (₹499, fully credited to your order) — we’ll assess your feet over video, confirm sizing and courier your footwear or custom insoles to your door anywhere in India, and we follow up after you start wearing them to make sure the fit feels right.
