Plantar fasciitis & heel pain

That stabbing pain in your first steps of the morning is the classic sign of plantar fasciitis. Custom insoles support the arch to take strain off the fascia, and cushion the heel where it hurts. Fitted free in Pune, or online across India.

If your very first steps out of bed feel like a sharp jab in the heel that eases as you warm up — only to return after sitting — that’s the hallmark of plantar fasciitis. The right support can take a lot of the sting out of it.

What plantar fasciitis is

The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue that runs along the sole of your foot, from the heel to the toes. It works like a bowstring, holding up your arch and absorbing the load every time you take a step. When that band is overloaded, tiny strains build up where it attaches to the heel — and it becomes irritated and painful.

The giveaway is first-step pain: sharp heel pain when you get up in the morning or after resting, which eases as the fascia loosens with movement, then often flares again later in the day.

Symptoms & causes

It’s often brought on by a sudden jump in activity, long hours standing on hard floors, worn-out or unsupportive shoes, tight calf muscles, extra body weight, or feet that overpronate. Flat feet & fallen arches are a common driver, because a collapsing arch keeps the fascia over-stretched.

How custom insoles & supportive footwear relieve it

Relief comes from doing two things at once — and that’s exactly what a biomechanics-led fitting targets:

Built to your own arch height and gait, custom insoles place that support precisely where your fascia needs it. Pairing them with supportive orthopaedic footwear — proper heel support and a firm sole — keeps the strain off so the relief lasts beyond the shoe.

An honest note

We’re a specialist fitting shop, not a medical clinic. Custom insoles and good footwear are about support and relief — easing the day-to-day strain so your feet feel better. They aren’t a medical treatment. If your heel pain is severe, came on after an injury, or isn’t improving, please see your doctor or physiotherapist for a proper diagnosis. We’re glad to support whatever plan they recommend.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best insoles for plantar fasciitis?

The best insoles support your arch so the plantar fascia isn’t over-stretched, and cushion the heel where the pain bites. Because everyone’s arch and gait differ, custom orthopaedic insoles built to your feet after a biomechanical assessment usually give more targeted relief than a one-size insole.

How long does plantar fasciitis take to heal?

It varies — some people feel better in a few weeks, others take a few months. Consistent arch support, supportive footwear and gentle stretching all help. Insoles ease the strain on the fascia day to day, which gives it the best chance to settle. For stubborn or severe cases, please see your doctor.

Should I wear insoles all day?

Generally yes — the relief comes from supporting the fascia consistently, including those first steps in the morning and long spells on your feet. We suggest easing them in over the first few days. Try to avoid walking barefoot on hard floors while things are sore.

Do I need custom insoles or will off-the-shelf work?

Mild cases sometimes settle with a good off-the-shelf insole and supportive shoes. But if the pain keeps returning, or your arch and gait are unusual, custom insoles placed exactly where your fascia needs support tend to work better. Our fitting helps you choose without pressure.

Are there stretches or night tips that help?

Many people find gentle calf and plantar fascia stretches, rolling the arch over a cold bottle, and a night splint helpful alongside insoles. We can suggest simple routines, but for a tailored plan — especially if the pain is severe — please check with your doctor or physiotherapist.
