Ordinary shoes are shaped for the shelf. Orthopaedic footwear is shaped for your feet — designed to support, steady and cushion every step, so standing and walking feel easier and your feet stay comfortable all day.
What makes footwear 'orthopaedic'
It is not a label — it is how the shoe is built. The footwear in our range is chosen for four things working together:
- Support — a structured footbed that holds the arch instead of letting it collapse.
- Stability — a firm heel counter and a steady sole that reduce wobble and rolling.
- Cushioning — shock-absorbing soles that soften the impact of every step on hard floors.
- Room for insoles — a removable factory footbed and extra depth, so your custom insoles drop straight in.
Who orthopaedic footwear helps
If your feet ache, your shoes feel like the enemy, or you are easing back from an injury, the right footwear makes a real difference day to day. People come to us for:
- Arch and heel pain, including plantar fasciitis
- Flat feet & fallen arches that need steady support
- Comfort while recovering after surgery or a foot or ankle injury
- Long hours on your feet — work, retail, hospital floors, market days
- Bunions, corns and pressure spots that rub in narrow shoes
- Swelling or sensitive feet that need a softer, roomier fit
Our range
Comfort shoes
Everyday lace-ups and slip-ons with cushioned, supportive footbeds and a stable sole — easy on the feet for walking, work and standing all day.
Recovery & adjustable sandals
Open, breathable sandals with contoured footbeds and adjustable straps, so you can loosen or tighten the fit as your feet swell or settle through the day. A favourite while recovering or in Pune's warmer months.
Wide-fit & extra-depth
Generous fittings for wider feet, bunions, swelling — or simply to make space for a thicker custom insole without cramping your toes.
Better together with custom insoles
Footwear gives structure; the insole gives precision. The shoe supports and protects your foot, while your custom orthopaedic insoles are shaped to your exact arch, heel alignment and gait. Worn together they spread pressure evenly and ease the strain that causes pain — far more than either can on its own.

Frequently asked questions
What makes a shoe orthopaedic?
Orthopaedic footwear is built around the foot rather than fashion — firmer heel support for stability, a supportive footbed, generous cushioning, and a roomy toe box. Many also have a removable insole, so there is space to drop in your custom orthopaedic insoles for a precise fit.
Can I wear my custom insoles inside orthopaedic shoes?
Yes, and we recommend it. We choose footwear with a removable factory insole, then fit your custom orthopaedic insoles inside. The shoe gives structure and depth while the insole supports your exact arch and gait — they work best together.
Do you stock wide-fit and adjustable footwear?
We do. Our range includes wide and extra-depth fittings for bunions, swelling or thicker insoles, plus sandals and shoes with adjustable straps so you can fine-tune the fit through the day. Pop into our Budhwar Peth shop in Pune and we will fit you in person.
How much does orthopaedic footwear cost in India?
Prices in our range start from around ₹999 and vary with the style, build and fitting. We will help you pick a pair that suits your feet and budget — in our Pune shop, or guided over an online fitting with delivery across India.
Can I get fitted for orthopaedic footwear without visiting Pune?
Yes. Our online fitting (₹499, fully credited towards your order) lets us assess your feet over video, recommend the right footwear and insoles, and post everything to your door anywhere in India. We follow up after you start wearing your insoles to make sure the fit feels right.
